PS Belio Kipsang Education Announces New KCPE Release Date for 2023.
The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exam date has been rescheduled by Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang to give the government more time to organize for the applicants’ placement in high schools.
During an inspection tour to oversee the ongoing KCSE examinations at Naivasha Girls High School, Kipsang gave a speech in which he informed candidates that their results will be available by November 30, 2023.
The ministry had planned to release the results in its previous communiqué before Christmas.
The PS updated the dates, saying, “2023 KCPE results to be released by November 30 to allow for secondary schools’ placement and to aid parents in readying school fees.”
“It will also give parents ample time to prepare for school fees amid harsh economic times,” he stated.
October 30, 2023, was the start of the KCPE and KPSEA exams, which ended on November 1, 2023.
While 1,282,574 candidates took their KPSEA tests, at least 1,415,315 candidates took the KCPE exams and are awaiting their results.
As the nation moves toward a Competency-Based Curriculum, the KCPE exam was the last one to be administered in the nation 38 years after it was first offered (CBC).
The national exams for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) are presently being taken by Form 4 candidates. They began on October 23 and will conclude on November 24.
PS Kipsang praised the steps taken to stop exam irregularities, such as the double collection of KCSE test scripts, during his tour of Naivasha Girls.
Victoria Mulili, the director of education for Nakuru County, Kisilu Mutua, the subcounty deputy commissioner, and Rose Mwangi, the school principal, accompanied the PS.
