KNEC Announces Deadline for 2024 KCSE & KPSEA Registration.
The registration process for the Kenya Primary School Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams in 2024 has been launched by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
The council notified school heads that the registration portals were now available on Thursday, February 1.
Instructors are to make sure that all qualified applicants finish registering before the deadline of March 29, 2024.
KNEC asked instructors to avoid a last-minute rush and stressed the significance of timely KCSE and KPSEA registration.
The council made it clear that there would be no further extensions after the deadline.
The KNEC website hosts specific portals that the council has set up for every school level to make registration easier.
“It is anticipated that every testing center will access a particular exam platform and input the candidates’ information by utilizing the password from their school registration,” the council said.
The declaration came when the results of the 2023 KPSEA were made public on January 19.
Prior to the results, teachers were instructed by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machagu to allow kids to enroll in Junior Secondary Schools (JSS).
Under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), the 2023 grade 6 students are the first group to take the KPSEA exams and advance to grade 7.
Concerns regarding the validity of the 2023 KCSE exam results led to legal action being taken against KNEC by a community initiative called Operation Linda Jamii.
The group questioned how the results were tabulated and drew attention to anomalies in the Oruba Boys High School results, where every student received a D with a 1-2 point variance.
