One thousand teaching positions to be offered by TSC.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) will issue employment and posting letters to around 1,000 primary school teachers this month. TSC announced recruitment positions for educators interested in joining the Commission in September 2023, with plans to release opportunities for both elementary and high school teachers in the near future.
TSC has established particular criteria for persons interested in working as intern teachers:
a) Must be a Kenyan national;
b) A registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission is required.
b) Candidates for primary school posts must have a P1 Certificate, whereas secondary school positions require a Diploma in Education Certificate.
d) Must have original academic and professional credentials;
g) Should not have previously held a permanent position with the Commission;
f) Must not have previously participated in the TSC teacher internship program;
g) Be willing to be assigned to any Kenyan public educational institution;
h) Personal Accident Insurance is required to cover personal hazards throughout the internship time.
In addition to these requirements, successful applicants must submit the following documentation:
a) A copy of their National ID card or Passport Certificate;
b) A duplicate of the Teacher Registration Certificate or a printout from the TSC portal confirming teacher registration;
c) A copy of the NCPWD identification card (if applicable);
d) A current Good Conduct Certificate;
e) Two (2) passport-size colour pictures;
f) A duplicate of the NHIF card;
g) A duplicate of the KRA PIN.
TSC has said that intern instructors will serve for a period of twelve months with no chance of extension. TSC also stated that interns allocated to primary and secondary schools will earn monthly stipends of Kshs. 15,000 and Kshs. 20,000, respectively.
TSC has extended the internship period for 4,005 Kenyan teachers from various counties, with the following allocations:
