All P1 Teachers’ TSC Starting Salary
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) hires secondary and elementary school teachers throughout the country, including P1 instructors. P1 teachers start at job group B5 and earn Ksh. 21,197 per month.
Furthermore, depending on the location of the school, the commission gives varying allowances to these teachers. P1 teachers in municipalities typically receive higher housing and commuting allowances than those in rural areas.
According to TSC data, nearly 30,000 P1 teachers in job group B5 are looking forward to compensation increases since they believe they have been disregarded in terms of promotions for a long time.
Job category B5 consists of elementary school teachers, usually P1 teachers, and has six salary levels. While commuter and housing allowances are consistent across all levels, the basic income varies.
instructors working in hardship zones are entitled to a hardship allowance of Ksh. 6,600 per month for B5 instructors in such locations.
Teachers with physical limitations are paid more than their peers in the same grade, and they also receive a monthly guide allowance of Ksh. 20,000.
The instructors’ employer has recently shown significant support for these educators. During her presentation before the Parliamentary committee on budget allocation, TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia recognized that teachers have long been overlooked in terms of compensation hikes.
It was also promised that these instructors’ salaries will be examined, resulting in modifications to their pay stubs.
