How to Apply for 1,000 Internship Positions Announced by (MoE)
Under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP), Cohort 3, the Ministry of Education (MoE), State Department for Basic Education, has offered 1,000 internship openings.
According to a notice made public on Tuesday, September 5, the ministry will assign successful candidates to schools at the Sub County Level, where they will not only gain knowledge and practical skills but also play a crucial part in supporting virtual learning and other associated digital platforms.
The advertisement stated, in part, “The interns will be paid a stipend by the State Department, at a rate as determined by the Government.”
When the 12-month, non-renewable internship programme is successfully completed, the State Department will provide certificates to the interns.
The candidate must be willing to be deployed to any Sub County Education office across the nation on a full-time basis and must have graduated no earlier than 2019.
The applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in education with an emphasis in ICT, a Bachelor’s degree in ICT, a Diploma in ICT, or a certificate in ICT integration in education from an accredited institution.
The ministry listed “Knowledgeable in networking and infrastructure, applications development, information security, and project management”
They should have the skills to conduct research and innovation to support the DLP and be able to connect ICT with Education in terms of E-Learning and content production.
Internship Duties and Responsibilities
i. Support of E-Learning and content development in line with the schemes of work
ii. Providing class support and training of Primary School teachers in use of digital literacy devices
iii. Supporting implementation of the Digital Learning Programme
iv. Carrying out innovations to enable schools improve on use of digital learning
v. Providing support in safe, secure and ethical use of technology in learning
vi. Assisting teachers by integrating ICT in delivery of teaching, learning and assessment
vii. Supporting school staff with development and production of key school policies and procedures
viii. Providing first line support and maintenance of ICT services in the schools
