Helb loans were formerly ineligible for students who started at the institution before turning 18 years old.

13 Technical and Vocational Colleges will also receive approval from the government to become National Polytechnics. For students wishing to apply for scholarships and Helb loans, the Cabinet has removed the necessity for national identity cards.
