Main responsibilities

• Your job, under the supervision of the Senior Digital Journalist, is to create, record, and edit content for our service that is highly shareable and interesting. You’ll make sure that all content is produced on schedule and maintains the strictest editorial standards. Location lighting, filming, editing, post-production, and product delivery will also fall within your purview. 

Are you the right candidate?

• The chosen applicant will speak and write Swahili fluently and have a high level of proficiency in English. Prior experience as a journalist is necessary. It is imperative to have prior experience with digital newsgathering, original journalism, using a variety of cameras, and submitting video from the field. Understanding outside broadcast techniques would be a huge plus. You’ll have experience shooting and editing high-quality videos, and you’ll know how to use Final Cut Pro and other tools and programs as needed. It’s critical to have a thorough awareness of the current technological challenges in video content creation as well as a clear interest in emerging media technologies.
