TSC Updates Teacher Promotion Marking Procedure.

TSC Updated Marking Scheme for Promotion of Teachers. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced more than 36,000 teacher promotions.

The commission recently released a circular outlining its plan for combating the problem of stagnant teacher employment by promoting educators in all nine grades.

According to the TSC, primary, secondary, and teacher training colleges will all receive the advancements.

The commission has allocated 12,716 promotions for senior master positions and 10,819 promotions for senior teachers in regular elementary schools.

In addition, there are 700 senior teacher openings in special needs schools (Grade C4) and 216 senior teacher positions in teacher training facilities (Grade C4).

TSC advises interested parties to submit an application via the TSC portal by September 8, 2023.

Relevant Workshops/Seminars: 3 points
Proficiency in Technical Aspects
Following the New Constitution: Three Points of Understanding of TSC’s Structure, Function, and Policies

Knowledge of the Code of Conduct and Ethics and the Code of Regulations for Teachers: 4 points

10 points for having knowledge of the development, implementation, and supervision of curricula (KICD, TSC, KLB, KNEC, etc.).

0.50 – 0.69: 6 points

Note:

The institution’s head must approve the evaluation.

The topic mean score or the improvement index from the current or previous place (whichever is higher) determines the scoring.

Contribution to Extracurricular Activities (in the last five years as a coach, referee, official, etc.)

Note:

Results from the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination will be accorded a lot of weight.

A maximum of 20 points can be awarded to teachers who achieve a mean score of 11 or higher.
