KNEC Announces CBA Exam Date
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has published the examination dates for the October 2023 Competency-Based Assessments (CBA) in Grades 3, 4, 5, and 7.
Students previously completed their projects and practicals between June 6th and August 10th. The assessments, which will be conducted by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), will now begin on October 2, 2023.
During these assessments, teachers will grade students’ performance on practical tasks using the instructions supplied. Any evaluation tools that require color photographs should be printed in color and submitted to any available digital platforms in schools.
Tests have become a component of formative assessments in the school system since the introduction of the competency-based curriculum. Schools are able to download and use these assessment tools with their students.
KNEC has developed two ways for accessing evaluation tools in order to decrease printing costs. These resources will be available online in PDF and digital forms.
Mathematics and English are among the disciplines with written exams for Grade 3, with assessments set to commence on October 2, 2023.
Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Agriculture, Social Studies, Home Science, Art and Craft, CRE/IRE/HRE, Science and Technology, and Kenyan Sign Language will be assessed in Grade 4 students. Grade 4 exams will be held from October 2nd to October 26th, 2023.
Students in Grade 5 will also take written exams in Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Agriculture, Social Studies, Home Science, Art and Craft, CRE/IRE/HRE, Science and Technology, and Kenyan Sign Language. Their tests are likewise set to take place between October 2nd and October 26th, 2023.
Students in Grade 7 will take written examinations for mandatory and elective topics. Math, English, Kiswahili, Agriculture, Social Studies, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, CRE/IRE/HRE, Science and Technology, Kenyan Sign Language, Integrated Science, Computer Studies, Business Studies, Life Skills Education, Pre-Technical, and Pre-Career Education are among the disciplines offered. Their exams are scheduled to take place from October 2nd to October 26th, 2023.
