TSC CBC Training Schedule and Locations by County
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) will begin retooling teachers in Grade 7 courses for the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) and the Competency Based Assessment (CBA) beginning on October 2, 2023 and continuing until October 13, 2023 respectively.
A smart cascade model will be used as the basis for the training plan. The Master Trainers will be trained first, and then the Trainers of Trainees (TOTs) will be trained. During the in-person training that teachers will receive, these Master Trainers will also offer their specialized help to those teachers.
The following is a list of significant dates and participants for the training:
1. Instruction for Master Trainers, both normal and SNE, will be provided at KISE from the second to the fourth of October. Participants will be selected from a variety of sources, including but not limited to TSC, KICD, KNEC, KEMI, CEMASTEA, MoE, KISE, and TTCs.
2. On October 6 and 7, training for TOTs, both normal and SNE, will take place at TTCs and other places specified by the county. Participants for this stage will be sought from CSOs, TTC Teacher Educators, Ministry of Education QAS, and TSC Student Community Directors.
3. From the 9th to the 13th of October, teachers will be able to attend TTCs and other county-selected sites to get subject-specific retooling. This course will be beneficial to educators in the fields of language, science, mathematics, humanities, and technical subjects.
