Hearing in CBC Case Postponed by High Court

The fate of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) won’t be known to parents until the junior high school transition.

A challenge brought by Ms. Esther Ang’awa, a parent and attorney, opposing the introduction of CBC, was postponed by the High Court in Nairobi. She contends that parents cannot afford CBC.
The Judiciary stated that the judges assigned by the Chief Justice to decide the matter in December are now working.

The judge bench is made up of Anthony Mrima, Anthony Ndung’u, and Hedwig Ongundi.

Ms. Ang’awa retracted her demand that CBC be shut down, alleging that she had been unfairly targeted.

The action is now being brought by Nelson Havi, a former president of the Law Society of Kenya.
