The Need
- IJM has been in the forefront of efforts to shield vulnerable individuals from violence for 25 years. We are looking for a Coordinator, Survivor Services to help the survivors of violent oppression by offering psychological skills as we grow to safeguard 500 million people from violence by 2030. According to the IJM minimal standards of care, the Coordinator, Survivor Services will make sure that IJM survivors receive adequate and high-quality care. He or she will work with partners to make sure that a network of care, greater societal demand, and a criminal justice system that is trauma-informed give survivors the ability to see their cases through to completion. Together with other partners, he or she will endeavor to create a network of care for victims of violent abuse and to increase public understanding of trauma-informed treatment.
- This position is based in IJM’s Kenya Nairobi office and reports to the Senior Manager, Survivor Services.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in development of networks of care with other stakeholders that empower clients towards restoration.
- Participate in advocacy forums for communities around community justice centers to increase social demand for survivors to file complaints and follow up on their cases through completion.
- Participate in the development & implementation of survivor-related policies and strategies to ensure the achievement of survivor-related outcomes and sub-outcomes while observing best practices.
- Ensure internal information management with relevant departments within the confines of shared confidentiality to ensure the success of the multidisciplinary approach to service delivery for the survivors.
