JSS’S NEW CLUSTERS OF TEACHING COURSES
Based on the latest available data (January 2022), it can be observed that the 8-4-4 system is intricately associated with the educational framework in Kenya. Under this system, students undergo an eight-year duration in primary school, followed by a four-year period in secondary school, and thereafter pursue a minimum of four years in higher education. Nevertheless, it is possible that modifications or adaptations have been implemented in the particulars of educational systems since that time.
The Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) is an instructional approach that places emphasis on the development of transferable skills rather than the mere memorization of facts. The purpose of this approach is to enhance flexibility and inclusivity in catering to the varying skill sets and learning preferences of students. In CBC environments, there is generally a greater emphasis placed on practical and experience learning.
