TSC Promotions: KUPPET Threatens Nationwide Strike.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC), on behalf of the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET), is to expedite the process of promoting teachers and guarantee that those who are eligible for promotion do so.
Akelo Misori, the secretary general of KUPPET, announced on Tuesday that if their demand is not met quickly, they will declare a statewide strike to pressure the TSC to expedite teacher promotions across the nation.
According to Misori, the TSC needs to be explicit about the fact that a lot of teachers have been stuck in one job category for a long time.
He claimed that many educators who have been unfulfilled for years in a single field have become disheartened.
Misori stated that many instructors who are eligible for promotion have not received it, despite the fact that the names of some of the TSC-approved teachers who were recently promoted have either retired or passed away.
