TSC Updated Salary Scales for Teachers According to 2021-2025 CBA
The 2021–2025 Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) include significant changes to teacher pay scales disclosed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Teachers will be able to continue using their current incremental dates when they transition to the new scales during the two phases of implementation, which begin on July 1, 2023.
The TSC Circular states that yearly pay increases would continue to be in accordance with the 2015 Code of Regulations for Teachers.
A thorough examination of the house allowance rates, grading structure, and designations has been conducted.
The newly introduced TSC grading system encompasses diverse job titles and scales, ranging from Chief Principals to Primary Teachers.
Each grade corresponds to a specific T-Scale, and house allowance rates are now categorized into four clusters based on geographical locations.
For the new pay scales, which include Chief Principals, Senior Principals, Principals, Deputy Principals, Senior Masters, Senior Lecturers, and more, the Circular offers comprehensive conversion tables.
This statement comes after the Teachers Service Commission and several teachers’ unions signed an amendment agreement to the 2021–2025 CBA on August 28, 2023.
The TSC is unwavering in its emphasis on entry prerequisites, career advancement policies, and how crucial it is to follow the new wage structures.
This update represents a significant advancement in the pay and professional growth of Kenyan teachers.
