When Will the KCPE and KPSEA Be Released
According to Belio Kipsang, the Principal Secretary for Education, the results of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) tests for 2023 will be made public before the Christmas vacation.
In a briefing, Kipsang expressed gratitude to everyone who had contributed to the smooth operation of the examinations and emphasized that the process of marking and grading the examinations had already begun with an eye on the deadline.
A grand total of 2.6 million students took part in the examinations, with roughly 1.4 million students taking part in the KCPE exams and approximately 1.2 million students taking part in the KPSEA exams (for Grade 6). PS Kipsang stressed that the Ministry of Education is committed to enabling a successful transfer to the next level of education for every applicant who submits an application for that level.
Kipsang also mentioned that there has been a reduction in the number of teenage pregnancies this year. She attributed the decrease to programs that empower parents and expressed her contentment with the fact that the reduction has been reflected in the 2023 evaluation cycle.
It is important to point out, in view of the imminent implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in primary schools, that the students in this year’s cohort will be the very last to attempt the KCPE examinations.
