TSC Demands Return of field offers to Duty for KCPE/KCSE
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) issued a directive on Monday, instructing all field officers on leave to return to work by October 16. TSC CEO Nancy Macharia announced the decision, emphasizing that it is an important component of the institution’s preparations for the next national exams.
Macharia explained that this action is one of the steps being taken to ensure the effective completion of the last phase of national test preparations. These field officers’ principal responsibility will be to monitor and facilitate the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Certificate of principal Education (KCPE) examinations.
They will also be responsible for ensuring the seamless administration of the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced that the KCPE and KPSEA will be held concurrently. Both national tests will begin rehearsals on October 27, with the actual exams beginning on Monday, October 30, and concluding on Wednesday, November 1.
In terms of KCSE, the examination organization has officially announced the start date as Thursday, October 10, with the exams ending on Friday, November 24. To reassure parents and students about the smooth running of these tests, Macharia said that supervisors, invigilators, and examiners have already been vetted.
Macharia made the announcement at the start of the 2023 national examinations season, which was attended by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu and Principal Secretaries Belio Kipsang (Basic Education) and Raymond Omollo (Interior Security).
