Teachers in the C2 Job Group Will See Salary Increases

Teachers in the C2 Job Group Will See Salary Increases. The only body in Kenya having the power to hire, advance, and transfer teachers between positions is the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

The team, which is now led by Dr. Nancy Macharia, has worked very hard to ensure that instructors receive fair pay.

One of the subjects in Kenya that requires dedication, perseverance, and work is teaching. Many academically talented students decide to enter teaching as a last resort because it may not be their preferred vocation.

But it appears that perceptions of the teaching profession are evolving. In Kenyan universities, the majority of students now choose to become teachers as their professional choice, so teaching is rapidly improving its marketability.

This trend is made even more encouraging by recent efforts by the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Teachers (KUPPET) to encourage the Teachers Service Commission to raise the pay of newly hired teachers.

According to the union, the lowest paid secondary school teachers currently earn Sh34,959. This remuneration was viewed as being insufficient for teachers who spend countless hours instructing children.

According to KUPPET, TSC should consider increasing teacher compensation from its current level of 34,959 to 74,259, which would represent a massive increase of 70%.

If the commission abides by the Union’s demands, teaching will be one of the most popular career choices in Kenyan institutions.
