About U.S. Embassy to Kenya
In 1964, the American Embassy in Kenya opened. Since then, the Embassy has serviced American requirements in and around this East African hub and strengthened ties between the people of Kenya and the United States via sixteen ambassadors. The main objectives of the U.S. Mission are to support the growth of a healthy Kenyan economy, fortify Kenyan democratic institutions, aid in the containment of HIV/AIDS, and advance commercial relations between the United States and Kenya.

- In Post’s consular district, U.S. citizens can get passports, citizenship, and special consular services from the American Citizen Services (ACS) Assistant.
- Serves as one of the primary points of contact for U.S. citizens in the consular district and maintains a network of public and private sector contacts who may be able to assist U.S. citizens.
- assists in the creation of emergency messages and website updates, as well as having direct conversations with applicants for citizenship and American citizens who are in need.
- Works with the ACS Chief, consular officers and other Post staff on crisis preparedness and response. Â Performs administrative duties and supports other consular section units as required.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:Â
- Minimum two years of administrative work, case management, or customer service work experience is required.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of local cultural, social, and legal environment.
Education Requirements:
- Completion of high school.
- Completion of two years of college or university studies is required.
