Hair Technician (Barber)-how to apply

Job Description

We are trying to find a talented barber to work with us. As part of this position, you will be tasked with advising and assisting our clients in choosing the ideal haircut to achieve their desired looks. After you’ve completed that, you’ll trim and style their hair to as nearly resemble the description they gave you.

What we need from you

• Have excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to fully comprehend the demands and requests of their clients.
• It should be your ability to evaluate a client’s hair condition and use problem-solving techniques to produce personalized styles.
• Must possess technical hairstyling capabilities, such as the use of chemicals and hot tools, razors, clippers, and scissors, as well as haircutting, coloring, grooming, and facial hair styling abilities.
• Bring innovation and problem-solving abilities to work and be passionate about what you do. You will also assist us with keeping our shop’s inventory and cleanliness up to date.
• You must be really good with people and able to correctly capture the look that our clients want their haircuts to achieve in order to succeed in this profession.
• Additionally, you should stay up to date on the latest trends

Duties and responsibilities

• Their primary responsibilities are to enhance the cosmetic appeal and health of their client’s hair

• Assess hair and scalp health and recommend treatments and products

• Consult with clients and advise hairstyle and hair treatment options

• Cut and style hair to client to specifications

• Use chemical solutions, hair dyes and hot styling tools

• Maintain salon sanitation and health standards, including cleaning and disinfecting workstations

• Trim and groom client’s facial hair with combs, razors, scissors and clippers

Qualifications

• Time management skills to complete client services in an efficient and timely manner

• Technical knowledge and skill for hair to assist clients with a variety of hair types and needs

• Interpersonal skills to connect with clients, building long term relationships and client loyalty

• Ability to successfully recreate the wide variety of hairstyles that our clients are looking for aesthetic creativity to create unique styles tailored to client-specific visions

• Communication skills to listen and understand client requests, as well as discuss various options and decisions before, during and after services

• Customer service skills as necessary for performing transactions, scheduling appointments and following up with clients

• Physical abilities that allow them to stand for long periods and perform precise cuts

• Helps foster and maintain a relaxed and positive salon atmosphere through empathy and collaboration

• Have completed high school or equivalent education, and graduated from a state licensed barber school with a Diploma or higher

• Advanced courses to improve their skills and knowledge would be desirable.

• Create a flexible schedule to work at night, on weekends, and on certain holidays

• Licenses and/or certifications in the field.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an upscale salon or hospitality and spa industry
