HELB Extends First Time Loan Application Deadline. The 2023/2024 first-time loan application deadline has been extended by the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) in accordance with the new funding model.
It will be possible to access the application portal until October 7, 2023.
Application Requirements:
A copy of your admission letter from the institution.
A copy of your National Identification Card.
Your KCSE result slip or certificate.
Copies of both parents’ National ID Cards or a death certificate if either parent is deceased.
Copies of both guarantors’ National ID cards.
A copy of your Bank ATM or bank card.
One recent colored passport-size photograph
How to Apply
Visit the Student Portal (via http://hef.co.ke) and select the “create an account” option for registration.
After successful account creation, login and choose the appropriate Form, such as the TVET First Time Loan Application Form (TLAF).
Engage in financial literacy by reading relevant materials or watching educational videos. Follow this with a brief online exercise.
Proceed to access and complete the loan application form.
Print two copies of the fully filled-out TVET Loan Application Form, as it is mandatory.
Ensure the forms are accurately filled, signed, and stamped by the relevant authorities.
Attach all the necessary documents as outlined in the provided checklist.
Submit one copy of the completed Loan Application Form to either:
Any designated Huduma center closest to your location (e.g., Bomet, Bungoma, Chuka, Eldoret, etc.) for free and secure delivery;
HELB Student Service Center on Mezzanine 1, Anniversary Towers, University Way, Nairobi.
Retain a complete copy of the TVET Loan Application Form for your records.
