REASONS WHY GETTING A VISA TO CHINA WILL BE EASY
There is no longer a need to schedule an appointment at the Chinese embassy in Kenya in order to obtain a visa in order to travel to China.
This comes after China eliminated the requirement for all Kenyans to schedule a physical appointment when applying for a visa.
Kenyan citizens who are interested in obtaining Chinese visas need only to deliver the necessary paperwork to the visa application centre in China.
In spite of this, the fees for Kenyans applying for Chinese visas remain the same: Sh4,000 for a single entry visa valid for three months, Sh8,000 for a double entry visa valid for six months, and Sh8,000 for a multi-entry visa valid for six months.
All of these visa types have a validity period of six months.
To get a visa that is valid for three months, people of Kenya would be required to pay a higher fee than nationals of other African countries.
This finding is quite intriguing. For a single entrance visa, citizens of “other Third World Countries” would be required to pay Sh3,000, while citizens of Kenya will be required to pay Sh4,500.
An application form, a passport photo, a copy of the applicant’s passport, evidence of identity, proof of domicile, proof of financial support, proof of travel (an air ticket), and proof of accommodation in China are all required when applying for a tourist visa to China.
