TSC Vacancies 5,690 Openings for Head Teachers, Deputy Principals, and Principals
Teachers Service Commission (TSC) stated that 5,690 more teachers will be hired for senior positions in primary and secondary schools across the nation. The application time would be one week.
The commission announced that it would be employing 755 teachers to fill the post-primary school principal role, which is comparable to the secondary school position.
Candidates must have worked as Senior Masters or Deputy Principals for at least six months in order to be considered for the Principal job.
“A teacher must have been Deputy Principal II/Senior Master I, T-Scale 12 for at least six (6) months and have received a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process in order to be appointed to this grade,” the TSC said.
It further stated, “A teacher must meet any additional requirements deemed necessary by the Commission and have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and provide professional support to other teachers.”
TSC will also appoint 816 teachers nationwide to the post of Deputy Principal, emphasizing that it will only consider candidates who have been Senior Masters at their respective schools for at least three years.
“A teacher must have received a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process and have proven their ability to supervise, mentor, and support other teachers professionally in order to be appointed to this grade,” the Commission said.
The TSC claims that the 5,690 instructors will be employed in accordance with the Career Progression Guidelines, which mandate advancement and promotion for educators who have worked in the educational system for a specific number of years.
As the government works to address the nation’s teacher shortage, the commission also declared that it will hire 1,208 more school heads to be considered for the positions in the elementary schools.
TSC declared that a teacher must have been a Deputy Head Teacher II TSC Scale 9 for at least three years in order to be appointed to the primary school headteacher job.
The Commission further stated that instructors must have received satisfactory ratings in performance reviews and have proven their capacity to mentor, supervise, and support other educators professionally in order to be considered for the position of primary school head.
Additionally, 2,911 teachers will be hired by the government to fill deputy headteacher posts in elementary schools around the nation. A teacher must have been a Senior Teacher I T-Scale 8 for at least three years in order to be appointed to this grade.
It has been recommended that interested applicants who fulfill the necessary requirements apply online via the TSC portal by midnight on Monday, November 18.
