Early-stage e-mobility startup BasiGo wants to transform public transit by giving bus owners an affordable electric substitute for fuel. We are seeking an HR Operations Associate to become a member of our team at BasiGo Kenya. The Head of People will get direct reports from the HR Operations Associate.
About the role:
When the Head of People needs assistance with recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, HR operations and administration, or event coordination, you will be a crucial part of the team. This job offers a professional path with lots of possibilities for advancement.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition:
- Support the Head of People in managing the candidate life cycle for Kenya roles & applicants, ensuring a good candidate experience throughout the process.
- Support in developing and managing recruitment materials, such as job descriptions.
- Support talent acquisition projects as required.
New Hire Admin:
- Own and execute onboarding and off-boarding of junior to middle new employees via coordinating mandatory training.
HR Ops & Team Admin Support:
- Own and manage HR operational aspects such as people-related reporting and administration of benefits.
- Act as a culture champion alongside the Head of People.
- Maintain custody of updated and accurate in-country employee and general HR records in a confidential and secure manner, in full compliance with statutory requirements and regulations.
- Support the Head of People around immigration admin.
- Support the Head of People as required and provide general administrative support to the HR team.
Culture:
- Support the Head of People with organizing team events, renovating office space, and reception duties.
Our Ideal Candidate would have:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields.
Experience:Â At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a human resources generalist, executive assistant or operations associate.
Experience in a diverse and inclusive work environment, and the ability to adapt to change and contribute innovative ideas.
Knowledge and specific experience:
- Working in HR in Kenya
- Supported recruitment processes and has experience in talent acquisition and onboarding
- Worked with an HRIS and Applicant Tracking System before
- Start-up experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel and Word), Google Workspace (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)
