PCS Posts Internship Openings In Education Ministry, Conditions, and Application Process

The Digital Literacy Program’s Information Technology Department has 1,000 paid internship positions available, according to the Public Service Commission (PSC).

PSC stated on Tuesday, August 5th, that anyone interested in applying for the internship opportunity must do so by September 25, 2023.

The commission said that the State Department for Basic Education, Ministry of Education, “has declared 1,000 vacancies for internship under the Digital Literacy Program (DLP), Cohort 3.”
The selected candidates, according to PSC, will be hired and assigned to schools at the sub-county level, where they will not only gain knowledge and practical skills but also play a vital part in promoting online education and other associated digital platforms. A candidate’s graduation date cannot be sooner than 2019

Additionally, candidates must possess knowledge of networking and infrastructure, application development, and information security, as well as a bachelor’s degree in education with a specialization in ICT, a bachelor’s degree in ICT, a diploma in ICT, or ICT integration in education.

“The candidate must be willing to be deployed to any Sub County Education office within the country on a full-time basis,” the commission stated.
In accordance with the work plans, supporting E-Learning and content development will be among the internship duties and responsibilities. Additionally, the intern will train primary school teachers in the use of digital literacy tools and offer support in the classroom.

The commission stated that the intern “will support the Digital Learning Program’s implementation and carry out innovations to enable schools to improve on the use of digital learning.”

According to PSC, the intern will also support the ethical, secure, and safe use of technology in education.

In addition, according to PSC, “they will support school staff in the development and production of critical school policies and procedures and assist teachers by integrating ICT in the delivery of teaching, learning, and assessment.”

Additionally, first-line assistance and upkeep of ICT services in the schools will be provided by successful candidates. The internship will have a 12-month duration and come with a non-renewable stipend.

According to PSC, the State Department of Basic Education will pay the stipend at a rate based on the Government Certificate.

According to PSC, “the interns will be awarded a certificate by the State Department upon successfully completing the Internship Program.”

By September 25, 2023, interested and qualified candidates are urged to submit their applications online using the Public Service Commission’s employment site, which may be accessed at www.publicservice.go.ie or www.psckjobs.go.ke.
