TSC Revised Pay Scale for higher Educators

Senior teachers in public elementary and secondary schools can rejoice, since the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is planning to update its wage systems. The TSC’s chief executive officer has emphasized the need to pay veteran teachers a competitive wage and hinted at forthcoming hefty raises.

The salaries of senior instructors in primary school grade C5 are likely to improve significantly, from 47,896 shillings per month to an astonishing 64,631 shillings per month, an amazing gain of 17,000. Similarly, secondary school educators can look forward to a sizable pay raise, with the possibility of seeing their monthly earnings rise to 157,656 shillings from the present 115,163 shillings.

The CEO stated that all teachers would receive raises in pay if the proposed compensation revision for the years 2021–2025 was approved. This is in accordance with the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). According to the CBA 2021-2025, the TSC salary structure for teachers has been revised as follows:

Teachers with above 540 students in district schools will get a fixed monthly salary of 118,242 and 121,890 shillings starting in scale 14.

Third, administrators (TSC 13) will see salary increases, with the lowest paid administrators now getting 104,644 shillings and the highest receiving 106,812 shillings.

There will be a wage review for the position of Deputy Principal III, which oversees full-time schools and sub-district schools, with the starting salary set at 91,041 Kenyan Shillings.

Class D1 (T scale 11) principals are responsible for primary schools with more than 1,000 pupils, and class D1 (T scale 11) masters of secondary schools have jurisdiction over campuses with more than 540 students.

Grade C5 (T Scale 10) administrators (Senior Master III, Deputy Headteacher I, and Headteacher) are in charge of elementary schools with fewer than 1,000 students.

Educators at all levels of experience can look forward to substantial pay raises and improved job chances thanks to this revised salary structure, which is in conformity with the terms of the 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement for TSC instructors.
